This Chrome Extension Privacy Policy describes how Jakka, Inc. processes information through the Jakka.ai — Page Scan Chrome extension (“Extension”). This notice supplements the Jakka Global Privacy Policy and provides the more specific explanation for Extension-related processing.

1. Extension Purpose

The Extension's single user-facing purpose is to allow a user to initiate a Jakka assessment of the webpage the user explicitly selects and retrieve the resulting website-quality and delivery-assurance results. The Extension supports Jakka's broader requirements-to-release acceptance platform by providing a browser-based entry point for authorized website assessment.

2. User-Initiated Operation

The Extension does not continuously monitor websites you browse. When you explicitly choose to use the Extension to scan the webpage you are viewing, the Extension may identify the active webpage URL and transmit information necessary to initiate and manage the requested Jakka assessment.

3. Browser Permissions

The current Extension uses activeTab to identify the active webpage explicitly selected by the user; storage to maintain Extension state and information necessary for scan, verification and result functionality; and alarms to periodically check whether a user-requested assessment has completed and support result notifications.

4. Host Access

The Extension communicates with Jakka's API at api.jakka.ai and may hand users into the Jakka application at app.jakka.ai. These communications support the user-requested assessment and retrieval of results.

5. Information Processed

When you initiate an assessment, the Extension may process or transmit the active webpage URL; browser user-agent information; browser language; time zone; screen resolution; technical browser characteristics; Extension version; scan identifiers; status information; pseudonymous browser identifier; CAPTCHA verification information; anti-abuse signals; temporary security/session information; and technical error information.

6. Information the Current Extension Does Not Request

The current Extension does not request Chrome permissions to obtain your general browsing history, Chrome cookies, downloads, geolocation, clipboard information, financial information, health information or persistent access to all websites merely because the Extension is installed. It does not continuously monitor browsing activity.

7. Website Content

The current Extension's browser-side functionality primarily uses the URL of the webpage explicitly selected for assessment. The website itself may subsequently be assessed by Jakka's server-side Services in accordance with the Global Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. Website content processed by Jakka's assessment service should therefore be distinguished from information directly extracted by the Extension itself.

8. Browser Fingerprint

To protect Jakka's free assessment functionality and infrastructure against abuse, Jakka may create a pseudonymous browser identifier. It may be generated from technical characteristics including user agent, language, platform, time zone, screen characteristics, device capabilities, hardware concurrency, device memory where available, device pixel ratio, canvas-derived characteristics and WebGL or graphics-renderer characteristics. These characteristics may be combined and cryptographically hashed.

9. Fingerprint Use Restrictions

The browser identifier may be used to detect abuse, detect repeated circumvention of usage restrictions, protect free assessments, prevent automated misuse, maintain security and enforce legitimate usage limits. Jakka does not use Extension-derived fingerprints for personalized advertising, retargeted advertising, interest-based advertising, unrelated cross-site behavioral tracking, credit scoring, lending decisions, sale to data brokers or unrelated profiling.

10. CAPTCHA

The Extension may use CAPTCHA or comparable verification technology to distinguish legitimate users from automated or abusive activity. CAPTCHA providers may receive technical information necessary to perform verification according to their own privacy practices.

11. Local Extension Storage

The Extension may store information locally using Chrome Extension storage, including a pseudonymous browser identifier, temporary authentication or handoff information, active scan identifiers, scan URL, verification state, browser verification information, recent errors, scan status and unread-result indicators.

12. Background Status Checks

After a user starts an assessment, the Extension may periodically contact Jakka to determine whether the assessment has completed, allowing results to become available even after the popup is closed.

13. How We Use Extension Information

Extension information is used only as necessary to provide the Extension's disclosed functionality, initiate requested assessments, identify the selected webpage, maintain scan state, retrieve results, maintain session continuity, prevent abuse, enforce legitimate usage limits, troubleshoot problems, protect users and Jakka, and comply with applicable law.

14. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Jakka's use of information received through the Extension is intended to comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including applicable Limited Use requirements. Information obtained through Chrome permissions is used only to provide or improve the Extension's disclosed single purpose and related operational purposes.

15. Advertising and Sale

Jakka does not use or transfer Extension user data for personalized, retargeted or interest-based advertising and does not sell Extension user data to data brokers, advertising networks, information resellers or third parties for unrelated commercial purposes.

16. Human Access

Jakka restricts human access to Extension user data. Human access may occur only where the user provides appropriate consent for specific support, access is necessary to investigate security or abuse, access is required by law, or data has been appropriately aggregated or anonymized for lawful internal operations.

17. Sharing

Extension information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate Jakka, including infrastructure, security and CAPTCHA providers. Such providers may process information only for permitted purposes subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

18. Security

Extension communications containing Personal Data or sensitive user information are transmitted using secure connections. Jakka uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect Extension information. No system can guarantee absolute security.

19. Authorization to Assess Websites

The Extension must only be used on websites you own, operate, manage, are responsible for or otherwise have lawful authorization to assess. It must not be used for unauthorized testing, surveillance, reconnaissance, exploitation or disruption.

20. Retention and Uninstall

Jakka retains Extension-related information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested assessment, maintain scan results, enforce legitimate usage limits, protect the Service, investigate abuse, satisfy applicable customer retention settings or comply with law. Uninstalling the Extension prevents future Extension processing but does not automatically delete assessments previously submitted to Jakka.

21. Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent or other applicable privacy rights. Requests may be submitted to [email protected].

22. Children

The Extension is intended for professional/business website-assessment use and is not directed to children.

23. Changes

We may update this Policy when Extension functionality, permissions, data processing, Chrome Web Store requirements or applicable law change. If future functionality requires materially different permissions or processing, Jakka will update applicable disclosures and obtain any required browser authorization, notice or consent.
